Two pages in arbitrage
When promoting products or services from the “gray” vertical, arbitrageurs face strict moderation of advertising platforms.
Advertising platforms will not allow ads with such ads and may ban the campaign or even the entire account.
To get around these restrictions, two pages are used: white page for moderators and black page for targeted traffic.
What is Black Page?
Black Page (BP) is a page containing an advertiser’s offer, often with aggressive, explicit or shocking promotional materials.
These pages violate the rules of most advertising platforms, so buyers create white pages for moderators and black pages for users.
Often such a page is called a “black hat page”.
Why do you need a Black Page?
The main purpose of Black Page is to attract and convert targeted traffic while bypassing moderation.
To hide Black Page from moderators, cloaking technology is used.
The essence of cloaking is to show moderators and bots a “white” page, and the target audience a real page with an offer (black page).
Types of Black Page
There are two main types of Black Page: stock and custom.
Stock BP Stock Black Pages are provided by affiliate programs and do not require development time.
They can be used immediately in an advertising campaign.
Such pages can be found in the offer card.
If you need to make changes to the stock landing page, you need to contact your personal manager and clarify the possibility of changes. Custom BP Custom Black Pages are developed independently.
This is a more complex process involving domain purchase, hosting, content creation and layout.
In large arbitration teams, separate specialists are responsible for each stage, while in solo arbitration, the arbitrator does everything himself.
What does the Black Page look like?
Black Page looks like an ordinary web page selling a product or service.
Its design depends on the offer and creativity of the webmaster.
Unlike White Page, Black Page can contain:
- Calls to Action (CTA)
- Order form
- Stopwatches with countdowns
- Scripts to bring a user back if they want to leave (cambackers)
- Discounts, bonuses, freespins (depending on the vertical)
- Reviews of other users (often fake) and other elements of aggressive advertising
Why it’s important.
Black Page is called so for a reason: the moderators of advertising platforms will definitely ban your advertising campaign and account if they find the content of this page.
In addition, the type of offerer may violate the rules of the site, for example, online casinos, so the landing page should be hidden.
The success of the advertising campaign directly depends on the design, layout and content of the Black Page.
A well-designed and informative Black Page significantly increases the conversion of users into leads, which is a key factor in traffic arbitrage.
