Facebook Pixel – creating and connecting

Facebook Pixel is a tool that is essential for tracking users’ actions on your website, improving the effectiveness of your ads. In this article, we’ll walk you through step-by-step instructions on how to create and connect Facebook Pixel via AdsManager and Event Manager.

Step 1: Create a pixel via AdsManager

1. Go to AdsManager, click Create and select Leads.
2. Go to the Ad Set tab and under Conversion, select Website.
   Next, click Create Pixel.
3. Specify the “Pixel Name” and the link of your site. Important! Use only the domain without parameters (e.g. example.com without /?id=123).
   
4. Click Check, then select Write code now and Meta Pixel and Conversion API.
   In the next window, click Instal code manually and Set Up manually.

Step 2: Customizing the pixel

1. After customizing the pixel, a window will open where you must select key events (e.g. Purchase, Subscribe, Complete Registration, Contact).
2. Click Continue for each event, then click Finish in the last window. This will take you to the Event Manager.

Step 3: Customizing the pixel in Event Manager

1. In Event Manager, select the Facebook Pixel you created and click Continue setup pixel.
2. In the window that appears, click Continue, in the last window click Finish. Event Manager will appear, where we select our pixel from the left list and click on the button Complete Setup.
3. You will be at the final pixel setting.
   In the window that appears, click Get Started.

4. The API Conversion API connection token generation item will appear. Click the button Generate Access Token and it will be automatically copied to the clipboard.
5. Scroll to the end of the page and click the button Finish 

Step 4: Adding a pixel to the API Conversion system

1. Go to MVP Project, then to Analytics and select Channels.
2. Select the channel you want to edit and click on Pencil.
3. In the Postbacks section, select Facebook Conversion API and click Add Pixel.
4. Specify Pixel (find it in Event Manager) and insert the generated API key.
   Click Create Channel.
